What was your strategy to get 7 bands in IELTS writing?
Most of the students possess thought in their brains that IELTS is a challenging test to pass. Although it is true because it needs a lot of practice to get those 7 or 8 bands, but, if a candidate prepares for and performs the test carefully, he or she can achieve that goal. Presently, many students ask that although they do correctly, still they manage to get only 6 or 6.5 bands in the IELTS writing module. One should understand that writing tasks are not just about showing off the difficulty level you pursue in yourself. Instead, they have a proper format for every component, and you have to understand that.
The foremost strategy to be followed is to understand the question carefully and to interpret what are they trying to ask. This technique helps a student to think precisely about the developing ideas and to make an outline before starting up the write-up. Many students complain that they already are not able to complete the tasks, and they are being told to make notes. But this approach is remedial because when we read the question, we strike with a lot of different thoughts and writing up all these will assist in not getting confused while writing. One important thing to keep in mind is that you manage the hour precisely. Spend no more than 20 minutes on Task 1 so that you may have at least 40 minutes for Task 2. Also, don't exceed or under the word limit. If you are supposed to write an essay of 250 words, don't cross over 280 or write less than 230.
Some of the other strategical tips are, never use any abbreviations or personal words like I, You, We in your tasks except for the introduction or the conclusion paragraphs, where you have to give your opinion. Always try to use as many synonyms as you can by not repeating a particular word multiple times. Repetition makes your essay childish and tiresome. Furthermore, never use the same word or any sentence stated in the question as it would force the examiner to deduct your points. Moreover, always start your writing from your strength as it would help you to manage your time and will also build your confidence for the second task. The next thing is to represent your tasks smartly. The best tip to do this is to write all the similar and correlating points in the same paragraph as it would also benefit the checker to evaluate your tasks more comfortably.
The point which most of the students lack while writing an essay that they forget to include examples in it. Instead, these have the most weight because these portray your practical and analytical skills. Further, use compelling opening lines and linking words to strengthen the quality of your tasks. Although using more vocabulary words is supportive, but it does not mean that you use remarkably complex words. Instead, use simple language with diversity so that whosoever will read it, may not face any difficulty. All this test need is practice, and this strategy is very healthy to score good marks in your IELTS writing module.
